BATIK

Batik has been both an art and a craft for centuries in Malaysia and it is famous in the east coast of Malaysia especially in Kelantan.

Kelantan Batik is recognizable by its distinctive pattern and vivid colours. All Kelantan Batik are handmade right from sketching, waxing by canting, and colouring using dyes. The most populor motifs are leaves, flowers and geometry.

For men, Batik can be worn at dinner and official functions. Even the ladies wear the fabric as formal dress, combining batik with modern fashion.

In the Kelantan state capital of Kota Bharu, numerous Batik factories and showrooms can be found along the famous Pantai Cahaya Bulan (PCB) road.
